With effect from 17 Nov inclusive, charges will be made for

accommodation and meals for residents in the Hong Kong,

and Peninsula Hotels.

Gloucester

For Service and Civil Affairs personnel who are not entitled to free accommodation and for ex-internees in essential services, the daily charges will be as follows. They include 3 meals a day

2. In the case of hotel residents other than those who come with- in the scope of para 1, the charges given above will cover accommodation only. An additional charge will be made for meals, at the prices posted

near the entrances to hotel dining rooms.

3. The rates mentioned in para 1 apply also to wives and families,

but will be halved for children under 14 years of age on application being made to the management. The cost of meals is included in the

charge if the husband or a parent in Hong Kong is a member of a Fight-

ing Service, in the Civil Affairs Administration, or an ex-internee in an

Essential Service.

4. Residents who pay at any of the above mentioned rates will no

longer be liable to the current charge of $1.70 a day.

5. The recipient of an hotel bill for accommodation, who has a contract, or other written evidence, which shows that he is entitled to be

accommodated at the expense of the Administration, should forward the

bill and the evidence to the S.0.II Finance Branch, 1A Prince's Bldg.

Des Voeux Road. If the claim is approved, the charge will be accepted

by the Administration.
